About Anklebiters

Anklebiters Inc is my own creation that came from many sources. I have had numerous jobs in retail, from the sales floors at Gap and Macy’s to the buying offices of Nine West and Sears. It was however, working at a small French- owned wholesale distributor in Chicago that really taught me how to work in the boutique market and to go to trade shows and find the best of the best. It also brought me to Europe where I saw beautiful toys and gifts.

My plan was always to open a general gift store when my children grew up but being home with them for 6 years, I got really into children’s products, books and especially toys. In October 2009 I opened Anklebiters. I strive to fill my shop with unique, quality items that are not seen everywhere else. I especially have a love for wooden European toys and great picture books.

The shop caters to young children 0-6 and sells a mixture of clothing, accessories, toys, books and gifts. 

I have a wonderful husband, Jim who has supported this endeavor for me as well as three young boys ages 7, 4, and 1. In my spare time, which is not a lot, I would like to get my own picture books published. I promise you will find a completely unique kid’s boutique.
